Aktualisierung (möglichst) an jedem Werktag, jeweils am späten Vormittag. Das jeweilige Datum bezieht sich auf den Tag eines Ereignisses (Medienberichte können durchaus mit gehöriger Verspätung kommen). Wir weisen darauf hin, dass diese Daily News immer nur einen momentanen Sachstand reflektieren können, und dass einzelne Meldungen ggf. einer späteren Ergänzung oder auch Verifizierung bedürfen.

GERMANY
4th and final TYPE 125 frigate „Rheinland-Pfalz“ christened during ceremony at tkMS‘ Hamburg facility ... delivery scheduled in spring 2020

MIGRATION
Mediterranean: The Italian Coast Guard coordinated rescue of 1,700 migrants packed into about 15 vessels, trying to reach Europe from North Africa ... appr. 30 people drowned when a boat with 200 occupants capsized

PHILIPPINES

  • The Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission is investigating the Philippine Navy’s acquisition of two Strategic Sealift Vessels in Indonesia for „suspected procurement irregularities“
  • The Philippine Navy has inducted three 17 m multi-purpose attack craft (MPAC) into the 3rd Boat Attack Division of its Littoral Combat Force unit

INDIA
The government is establishing a new Defence Procurement Organization (DPO) which will be responsible for speeding up procurement of weapons and equipment and will ensure that the entire budget is spent (every year, more than US$1 billion has had to be returned by MoD because of delays in procurements)

RUSSIA

  • DepDef Minister Borisov: 2018-25 navy plan includes indigenous helicopter carrier ... „with appr. four years building time, it should be there sometime after 2022“
  • DefMin Shoigu: „By late 2020 … about half of the navy’s combat ships will be armed with Kalibr cruise missiles“
  • With mine sweepers clearing the way for combat vessels sailing from the Kola Inlet, the Northern Fleet has begun exercises in the Barents Sea ... feature all aspects of modern naval warfare, incl. live missile/artillery firing ... missile cruiser „Marshal Ustinov“ among participants
